Alright guys Ive been on here awhile but I havent posted about my boy yet! Im new to the horse world, but for as long as I can remember Ive been mesmerized by them therefore always wanting my own! Well about a year and a half ago I was scrolling through Craigslist when I found a posting for a TB for $300. In the posting there was no picture, just a description of an 8 year old gelding who had been picked up at the local auction. We jumped in the truck to rush and get him about an hour away. When I got there I realized what was really going on, the women who picked him up said it was either her or the men that would take him to the saluter. But she couldnt care for him due to already having to many horses. Once she took the saddle off of him I wanted to cry but knew he was now mine! (After I had to fight these crazy ladys who only wanted him because he had the racing tattoo) Gaining his weight back on was the easy part, gaining hoof wall and trust... Thats another story! His hooves got cut back so much that he had to have glue on shoes for about two months and now has to have wedges on both fronts for the rest of his life due to no heal. Also probably the only thing that really helped him bounce back to life was the love that he gained for my 4 year old sister and I. The first time she was on him by herself accidentally sending him into a trot before I could stop them she wasnt prepared for it and fell off, immediately he stopped on a dime and ran back to her checking to see if she was ok. Ever since then a single whimper from her within a hearing distance for him and hes going crazy. Im glad he has a permanent, healthy, and happy home to live in for the rest of his life were he is loved each and everyday! It was a battle to keep him going but well worth it for the most amazing horse Ive ever been around. A lot of people told me I was crazy for getting a TB and even getting an OTTB at that, but I dont care hes amazing and my family and I couldnt ask for better boy!
