Alright hypothetical question UT fans. Would you have traded Johnny majors for steve spurrier after the 88 season. UT started 0-6, finished 5-6 and majors was on the hot seat. Spurrier was still at duke, having beaten UT in Knoxville in 88. What happened the next season started the best 10 year run in UT history; 1989-1998; 4 sec titles and a national championship. Many Tennessee fans think spurrier would have more at UT. Plus another positive is you block Florida from emerging, or at least as soon and dominant. Negatives are the obvious unknows like spurriers suspect ability to recruit as well as majors/fulmer did and if Florida ever came calling would he have left UT for them. As euphoric as 89-01 were 02- present has been beyond atrocious. What you guys say, yea or nay to the HBC in 1989
