Alright, ive done a quick test for those who have asked Jeru Andrews Jacob Graffrath Gregory Epsidufus McCourt and any who find this interesting or are looking at HSGI taco pouches as a future purchase. First off taco pouches were designed firsthand as a real steel mag pouches so PB mags are limited with them, however they fit none the less. The first test was requested for a T8.1 mag vs single taco pouch and ill relay the pros, cons and fitment suggestion. -T8.1 mag (current gen) vs (single pistol taco) the mag fits but with very limited room, feed neck takes approx 1/3 of the pouch with the rest sticking out, can cause flopping or loss. pouch activates ball retention (not recommended). My suggestion is to couple the T8.1 mag with an HSGI SMG extended pouch, fitment is great as well as retention. -TiPX mag (7rd true feed) vs (single pistol taco) the mag fits excellent with little play, retention is great as well as re insertion of the mag. My suggestion is regular pistol taco pouches with TiPX mags. -Zeta mag (2nd gen) vs (SMG taco pouch) the mag fits snug with great retention, no play but ease of access and draw, highly recommended for zeta mags. -SA mag (standard) vs (regular taco pouch) fitment is snug, little to no play or wobble with the mag. retention is great due to the ribbed design of the SA mag. draw and access is also great. highly recommended. -DMAG (14rd & 20rd) vs (regular taco pouch) fitment is very snug, retention is great due to the mags ribbed design as well. both mag types fit good and the draw is excellent. highly recommended. -standard mags (milsig/rap4 round neck) vs (standard taco pouch) mags fit decent, smooth design of the mags could cause loss, retention is great. HIGHLY not recommended to place feed neck down as feed neck retention WILL be activated resulting in paint loss and headache. bottom line, not really recommended. well there you go, my honest opinion. these pouches are a bit more expensive than other options but provide great open top mag access. i love mine and recommend HSGI to people i meet. quality products all the way around.
