Alright so spending past venue fees streaming equipment seems to - TopicsExpress

Alright so spending past venue fees streaming equipment seems to be nearly unanimous. Im looking at different capture cards online and it really comes down to how much we want to spend. We can afford a good one, and I think we should. At first I was okay with using a sub par card as long as it got the video on the screen, but I want it to look good now. Currently, I wouldnt watch our stream. Its trash. I want Winnipeg streams to become something worth watching. Ive talked to people who stream on their own and for other communities and theyve all recommended the Elgato Game Capture HD. At first I was looking to get headsets, a preamp, and some other cool shit too, but right now I think this paired with a nice new layout would be enough to make our stream look better. This would cost about $200 leaving about $275 for other things (I think, dont quote me on that number). I would also put some money into getting longer cables so the players dont hear the commentators. Spending money on steam equipment is based mostly on the responses to my last post, and from what people have told me in person. If you have other ideas as to how the money would be spent or think that spending it on a stream equipment is a bad idea, comment here with your ideas. Im not spending money on anything yet. Also please speak up if you want the money spend on everything we need for a pro level setup (headsets, preamp, etc). If its unanimous Ill buy the Elgato and some cables. If theres debate, Ill make a poll and see what people say. I really think we need to get a cable to move the commentators away from the players though. Its really distracting. DISCUSS!
