Alrighty folks, gotta question..... I adopted this guy from a rescue. He is a 9 yr old appaloosa twh. His owner who only rode him maybe once a month surrendered him and he had been at the rescue for almost 2 years, during that time he had only been rode once. I have had him now since Dec. 6th and rode him twice before then. I have rode a lot, he doesnt spook easily, he works off of leg pressure, and will walk and canter on voice. He does not want to run. When asked to run he will run a few steps and then go to what i call crow hopping and today he even reared up with me on, which of course, I stayed on and then asked him to run again which he did for a few steps. HOW DO I FIX THIS???? He is a very good and smart horse with a lot of potential. And i want to bring the best out of him.
