Alrighty-then! Camera (check) Yeap, yesterday I forgot my camera at work so I couldnt post. Normally, I load the pictures into our computer about 9:15; but last night found me disappointed in myself because I had left the camera on my desk at work. So ... Ill show you some pictures tonight. Today was interesting to say the least. The credit card machine died on Tuesday. You probably can relate if youve ever had to be on the phone with helper-people (I think they call them technicians) in India for hours trying to explain you cant go online to look up the answer because the computer is down and thats why youre calling. I tried to explain to this particular helper-guy who was going on and on and on about unplugging, replugging, is that hooked to this or is this hooked to that, what number is on the bottom inside the machine.. I finally said I have customers waiting could we do this a little quicker. He told me he was trying to help me? Well, I had hoped he was. Three people had to leave their stacks of clothing as I continued to listen to helper-guy who was now telling me I would have to prove the machine was indeed dead by taking it to a retailer next door to see if they would plug it in and see if it worked for them. Under that type of order I picked up the machine and power dealie and marched out the front door. The jeweler next door said he didnt have one of those machines. He had had one but he took a hammer to it. Okay then... next Serendipity where the sight of the machine in my arms was a bit of a baffler. Dont think theyd seen one before. Onward to Tournesol where Jeff explained they didnt have one of these older models. They actually have modern equipment. He did say hed come over and see what he could do. In the end the machine was pronounced dead. I called my sister, Sally - out of a meeting - to explain they needed her okay to charge $41.29 for over-night delivery (because the Warranty had not been paid for a couple years ago). Youll notice Im telling you this story tonight - Thursday night. Now, I dont know about you but I find it odd that Tuesday to Thursday afternoon is called over-night. But whos counting days when no one can pay for items with a credit card. Again, Jeff came up to hook the new, improved, smaller version. They really are great neighbors. But and however, Im not positive this new machine is working. I did take the Cash Only signs down. Cautious customers continued to limit their buys and use cash. The piles of clothes are still waiting to be picked up by customers from Tuesday and I have my skeptical eye on this bitty, little machine. Photo #1: Gaby Balton came in the other day to buy a long, black dress to become Elvira. We couldnt find the right dress so she bought a ring. How does that relate you say? The ring was a metal witch. Gaby returned today to see if Id located such a dress in my storage room ventures but I had not. So, being a flexible young woman she asked if we could take the Clown costume off the manikin in the window. She decided to become a Scary Clown at the party she will be traveling to. I, of course, asked about the ring. She says its a Halloween ring so its part of the Clown costume now. Isnt Gaby photogenic?
