Also in a statement on Thursday, a governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Udo Udeogaranya, condemned the violence and rage in the Rivers State House of Assembly. He stated that it was unpardonable for those in positions of authority to resort to mayhem. “As a democrat witnessing the acts of lawlessness, violence and rage at the Rivers State House Of Assembly, I condemn totally the acts of all the actors involved, both direct and indirect,” Mr. Udeogaranya said. “We as a people must learn to tow the path of non-violence in resolving any issue that may confront us as an individual or collectively as a people. “For parents to sit at home with their children and watch such a dastardly act coming from those who are in position to lead the society with genteelism, decorum, tranquility and nobility in the mould of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr and Mahatma Ghandi, to turn to some sort of vampires, leaching mayhem on lives and properties and degrading humanity, is unpardonable.” The governorship aspirant also urged the Police Service Commission, PSC, to dismiss Mr. Mbu immediately just as he called for the recall and prosecution of the five lawmakers that attempted to impeach the Speaker. He said that “all stakeholders must respect and abide by the constitutional stipulations that conferred Governor Chibuike Amaechi as the Governor, Head of Executive and The Chief Security officer of Rivers State, a federating unit of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
