Although Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have both got - TopicsExpress

Although Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have both got themselves on the scoresheet this week Chelsea will not rest in their pursuit of excellence. Diego Costa is rumoured to be the latest transfer target for Jose Mourinho’s title hungry Chelsea. The Brazilian born Spaniard has already netted 12 goals in 10 games this season for Atletico Madrid. Although it is a proven fact that a prolific striker from another country is not necessarily going to be an immediate success in the Premier League, we think that Diego Costa was born to play for a Mourinho team. He is hard working, aggressive, strong in a tackle, a poacher, and loves to rough up his opponents – even referees aren’t safe! Athletic Madrid turned down a £20 million bid for the 25 year old from Liverpool this summer. Despite the knock back Mourinho could still try to prise the brilliant front man away from his high flying La Liga club. Although Diego Costa would arguably be well-suited to the Premier League, he would be temporarily cup-tied in the UEFA Champions League if he was to make a switch to Chelsea, as he has already played in the competition for Atletico. Diego Costa has made two appearances for Brazil in friendly games against Italy and Russia – both were as a substitute. However, Spain have made an approach for the striker and it looks like he could join the Spain national side for the World Cup, ironically of course, in Brazil. Blues fans will hope that, by then, he’s a Chelsea player. Samuel Eto’o is arguably a short-term solution for Chelsea and it would seem as though Demba Ba’s days are numbered. Romelu Lukaku will have high hopes of eventually finding his feet at Chelsea after an incredible to start to his season for Everton. But Chelsea may well look to supplement their forward line before May.
