Although I agree that there is a need for more people to get involved with and educated on thoroughbred aftercare and retraining....I think this part of thoroughbred rescue should be reserved to people who are thoroughbred professionals. This will bring controversy, no doubt.....but I am seeing way too many horses going to homes that have no idea how to transition them safely.... Even if they are experienced horse people! This week alone I have taken 2 separate calls from people asking advice because someone on the track gave me this horse.....one has foundered and now the other has cost its new owner a trip to the ER. I dont mind helping and answering questions, but please...call me BEFORE it becomes an emergency. Thank you! Rant over.
