Although I have always provided information if I feel that it is of “just” [corny? kind of] purpose, I continue in feeling no inherent neediness for particular congratulation. Driving home, the individual on the sidewalk was in a bad situation that was coming to conclusion. Providing them with assistance was my choice. I am aware of calculated risk. The reason I’m currently on about this is because there had been recognition on the part of this person regarding the possibilities of my intent even when viable options had been lost. I’m glad for this self-preservation that was expressed to me. I had explained that while I knew my reasons for helping were without negative agenda, the issue was valid. I had no way of knowing who the next person may or may not have been had I chosen not to intervene (and with the intent that I had, have, and delivered on). When we parted company, it was acknowledged to me that, with compassion, I had preserved something good that may otherwise have been lost. There is no additional story here and that is not because I am playing this cute. It is that in this or any other lifetime, I will never be your horror. It is my tentative optimism that you reciprocate. ‘Night.
