Although Ive sworn not to discuss politics, this is my once-a-half-decade break in this rule. Please dont hold it against me. (Its rare I post this candidly.) In regards to todays court decision and of all of the debates Ive read tonight stemming from it, (setting aside religion vs. business, etc.) I have a question. What is the more loving choice? As an employer (and yes, you SHOULD act lovingly in regards to the people who give you a portion of their limited time on earth & dedication to your business): 1) Making personal choices for your female workforce based on your own religious belief and not in regards to theirs, or; 2) Allowing your employees the power to choose for themselves, based on their own situation/belief system? Now consider this: Would the young employee who gets pregnant as a result of rape well before shes ready to raise a child and must raise her attackers child for the next two decades of her life (and then quite some) because there was no covered option that was WITHIN HER POWER TO CHOOSE, agree that you have chosen the more loving option? If she had read your debates on the topic, would she still choose to give you her time??? Regardless of your stance, I am only asking you to think outside of your own situation before casting judgement on what is right for others and their right to choose their own fates & paths. Opinions are like (and well leave it with this variation, to avoid obscenity) nostrils. Almost everyone has them. Please consider the feelings and experiences of others, and respect opinions that may differ from your own. Life experiences lead to different choices. (And heaven knows weve ALL made some different, and to some others, questionable choices! Judge not lest ye be judged...) I just ask that this be considered in ongoing debates. What is right for one person is never a one size fits all solution. Thank you for entertaining me here. This concludes my rant. I now return you to your regularly scheduled timeline! #Consideration
