Although I’m a fan of well-written narrative prose, a book without dialogue, in almost every case, is not a complete book. Dialogue moves the story along. It allows you to showcase characters without jumping from head to head (which you really shouldn’t do), gives ample opportunity for body language cues, and relies on the skill set of “showing” rather than “telling”--all things that give dimension to your characters and your book.
