Although this was posted to my Timeline a few days ago, I decided to post this one from The Guardian. The Guardian has it right - bad luck is a fluke, and news services that posted it as such is bad journalism. The last thing a cancer patient/survivor needs to hear is that their cancer is the result of bad luck. Such a notion as bad luck is basically the same as saying that contracting cancer is the fault of the patient/survivor. I know of very few cancer survivors who blame themselves for their cancer, let alone having bad luck in contracting cancer. Leave us the f@ck alone if you, i.e., the press, cant report something more positive rather than telling us were to blame.
