Although, we cant all relate to Wale, his lifestyle and struggles, this song provides a common thread. We run into these people and/or situations in life that push us the right way one moment and the next it seems that theyre pulling us the wrong way. Sometimes the things that drive us forward can also push us back. I suppose the apropos way to handle it is to try to take two steps forward if youre going to end up taking one step back. Progress. There is only progress and detriment, because even standing still means getting left behind.
