Snow plows are a little different in Yellowstone National Park. #bison #nature Bison exhibit wild behavior like their ancient ancestors, including migration and exploration that result in the use of new habitat areas. These behaviors have enabled the successful restoration of a population that was on the brink of extinction just over a century ago. When and where they migrate depends on a complex relationship between the abundance of bison, quality and quantity of summer forage, and winter snowpack. In the Yellowstone area, they move from their summer ranges to lower winter ranges as snow accumulates and dense snowpack develops.
