Alumni student Ken Letander (BSW, 2012) is hosting the second annual speed-networking event on September 25th, 2013 in conjunction with the U of M’s Indigenous Achievement Homecoming Celebration. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate U of M’s Indigenous Alumni and connect with the Indigenous community on campus at the U of M Indigenous Achievement Homecoming Celebration. As part of the event on September 25th, 2013, the U of M will host its second annual speed-networking event. To register, please click iasn.eventbrite.ca/. Registration prior to the event is required. There are 60 networking spaces available total. 30 spaces are reserved for University of Manitoba Alumni, and 30 spaces are reserved for staff, and students; more student participants are needed! Last year’s event was tremendously successful. In pre-registering for this networking event, you can anticipate re-connecting with friends, alumni, faculty members, and students from various faculties who are connected with the Indigenous community at the U of M. The event is fast paced, energetic, and dynamic. Speed networking consists of meeting various people in just 5 minutes. This exciting opportunity will let you see what others are doing in their professions and communities. You can expect to meet U of M alumni from the Faculty of Architecture, Arts, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Science, Business, Law, Medicine, and Social Work, just to name a few. This is a free event; all that is requested from you is that you arrive a few minutes prior to 9:00 am to allow ample time to park and to settle in. Please bring your business cards to the speed-networking event to share with your new contacts. There will also be a Celebration at 11:30 am, followed by a Traditional Feast as part of the Indigenous Alumni event. Please contact Val Parker should you have any questions: [email protected] or (204) 474-8904 or visit umanitoba.ca/people/alumni/homecoming/index.html. For specific questions about the speed networking, please contact Ken Letander at ken@professionalnetworking250. Ken Letander will email you shortly after registration with the email you provide through Eventbrite to learn if you are a alumni, staff, or student.
