ALVIN DEPOT DAYS 2013 Parade Information We would like to invite you to participate in our fifth parade. The theme of this year’s parade will be HISTORIC ALVIN. The parade line-up will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31st at the American Legion Post #129, 206 S. Durant Street. At that time, you will be given a numbered place card and be directed to your spot in the parade. The 1.5 mile parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. – see route map on back or as a separate sheet. Participants will be judged on originality, preparation, participation and use of theme. Awards will be given for Commercial Entries, Non-Commercial Entries, Cars, Tractors, Groups, Best Horse or Horse Group plus Best Theme, and Best Overall. Winners will be announced and awards given at 12:00 p.m. at the Clock Tower Pavilion by the Historic Alvin Train Depot. All entries are encouraged to decorate in accordance with the theme of Historic Alvin. 2. Throwing of candy or anything else is prohibited. Walkers may pass out items to the people. 3. The line-up will be in accordance to protocol and at the discretion of the parade committee. 4. Entries will NOT be accepted without proper signatures. 5. All entries are subject to prior approval by the Parade Committee. 6. Only experienced and licensed drivers shall operate motorized equipment.
