Alyvia has been doing pretty good the past couple of weeks! As of today- and after two months of catching back up, Alyvia has officially surpassed the 16lb mark! She finally made it to 16lb 2oz! The past couple of days Ive been trying to switch her to full 1.5 cal Pediasure, from 1.25 to see if shell now tolerate it. Shes been doing ok with it but its hard to tell at this point. Her belly is pretty bloated and shes increased her pooping to a large morning one (thats my morning surprise everyday...or not so much a surprise now -_- lol) as well as one or two little ones throughout the day. She doesnt seem to be uncomfortable though so were taking it slow. By doing it this way, I get all her calories (AND MORE) in overnight and then have the option to run a bolus of 1 cal during the day for even more calories (and hopefully growth). Shes drinking water like a champ on her time off, from her sippy cup :) and shes been getting her hydration in that way (along with meds) The rectal bleeding has seemed to slow down a little. Its not every diaper anymore -more like every 2-3, so thats a good sign. Im still not convinced of the tube issue yet though. She did start her period two days ago. Now that weve had three months of consistency, my heart is pointing me in the way of true puberty instead of an adrenal response. Thinking back and looking at all the symptoms: Alyvia barely grew length wise (or at all really) her entire first year of life. Now, for the past few months shes seemed to have a massive growth spurt, underarm hair has appeared, pubic hair, Body odour, breast buds... Elevated hormone levels. Sigh. I still havent heard anything about the states trip or when were going which is why I havent put a drive on for fundraising yet. Im guessing I likely wont hear until we go to the clinic visit next month. Hopefully by then well have a more accurate timeline or treatment option available. I really hope we dont have to start doing growth hormone shots that were mentioned awhile ago. The poor girl goes through enough already. Torturing her with a needle everyday isnt exactly my idea of fun. I guess well have to wait and see as usual. Everyday she becomes more lively and energetic :) she babbles and argues with me left, right and center. She knows what she wants, when she wants it...and how to get it, and shes still mommies big (little) sook who cries the second Im not in her line of view. Overall, shes doing great!
