Alzheimers update: This update is a request for help, knowledge, explanations, something. Mom has Texas Health Spring insurance. Dad had the same before he passed. The nursing home we put Dad in advised us to cancel Texas Health Spring, that the coverage was not near as good (or for longer stays) as Medicare/Medicaid. Kindred Rehab advised the same about Mom last fall after her stroke. Texas Health Spring basically kicked her out 13 days sooner than Medicare would have. So, here is the question? How do I make sure mom has all the coverage she needs? What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid? What do I sign up for and where? If I cancel Texas Health Spring, is Mom automatically covered by Medicare and/or Medicaid? What are all the ads for Medicare supplemental insurance about? There has to be an easy explanation somewhere. Thanks in advance!
