Am I really missing something? The way I see this whole things is like this. Mr. Zimmerman wanted permission to flex some “authority” from the police department. When the police department dispatcher told him “no”, he decided that he was going to “flex” some authority anyway. There should not have been a confrontation because he (Zimmerman) was told not to confront the person! Guilty on count one! There should not have been a struggle because he (Zimmerman) was told not to confront the person! Guilty on count two! There should not have been a gunshot because he (Zimmerman) was told not to confront the person! Guilty of count three! Three strikes and you’re out! This individual took matters into his own hands after being told not too; and now wants to say that he was defending himself? You don’t get it both ways! Neighborhood watch people aren’t the police! Security companies personal aren’t the police! They are supposed to work “with” the police as additional eyes and ears alerting the police of potential danger or trouble. Yes, it’s nice to have these groups when they are acting in the scope of their purpose. The television show, In Living Color, had a spoof on neighborhood watch programs, with Jim Carrey portraying Dickie Peterson, the “Cherub of Justice”. He was a goof who made mountains out of mole hills. He also was told constantly to leave people alone. He didn’t listen and something happened to him all the time. Well, Mr. Zimmerman didn’t listen and a member of the Martin Family is never coming home again. When you are told to back down and you don’t, that spells premeditated to me! Again, am I missing something?
