Am I the only one who is terrified by what is happening with our government right now? Our system of government was set up with the three branches of the legislature. A law was passed not only through the House and Senate but was challenged and thus went to the Supreme Court which upheld it. I thought that all our Representatives had to take an oath of office to uphold our laws. Is this the new way of our world? Our representatives now can pick and choose which laws they want to uphold simply by refusing to fund them? Will we change their Oaths to say I will uphold the laws as long as I agree with them? What a slippery slope we are going down. If we allow this to happen we might as well throw out our entire system of how the laws of our nation are enacted. Laws can be repealed and there is a system set up by our Forefathers for exactly that. I believe that any of our Representatives, Democrat or Republican who is now holding our country hostage and not upholding the Oath of their office to support the laws of our nation have violated this sacred oath and should be immediately removed from their office. What will be next? Can we now pass any law which can immediately become null and void simply by our representatives refusing to fund them? What great power we are relinquishing to these people! Shame on them and shame on us for allowing this to happen.
