Am I the only person who finds it really disturbing that as humans, when we hear about the struggles, pain, and misfortune of another human... our first initial thought is- Well, at least Im not them! We hear it all the time. Be thankful for what you have, some people dont have it. While I agree we should all be thankful, Im not so sure using others misfortunes to fuel our grateful hearts is the way to go. People starve to death every day, but thank the Good Lord we eat like swine every day!! That attitude, is the reason people are still starving in the first place! In case you didnt know, there is no shortage of food in the world. We throw away 40% of our food, enough to feed 25 million people. The reason starvation still exists is simply because instead of thinking There are starving people in the world! What can I do about it?, we think There are starving people in the world! Sucks to suck! But hey! Thankfully, I have it better. Food for thought. No pun intended.
