Am I wrong, or is Naomi Klein pretty much going through the process that Derrick Jensen went through 15-20 years ago with her new book, This Changes Everything. I wonder if those 2 have spoken. Seems like shes saying a lot of what he said, but shes trying to sell radical action/revolution to liberals and the established left who are maybe not already environmentally concerned, whereas he is a social misfit and didnt really give a crap about alienating people and is much less in touch with the establishment, and was already speaking to the environmental crowd. Also, she foresees a transformed civilization, whereas all he could do was fetishize its collapse. But their processes and realizations are very similar, no? Im only one chapter through her book so this may be premature, but her intro sounds pretty Jensen-esque: wake up and change now, take radical action, or were pretty much doomed.
