Am in Chicago for the week where I am musical director/accompanist for the emotionally riveting opera by jake Heggie Dead Man Walking. I am absolutely thrilled thatj the principal cast from TMAMPs production of DMW last year in asheville are all here. So it will be old home week as I get to renew friendships with the incomparable sopranos Jane Bunnell and elise quagliata, baritones christian smith Kotlarek and Marc Embree, director Francis Cullinan and his partner Baker. And finally, to simply be in the presence of sister Helen Prejean is an experience all humans ought to be fortunate enough to have. What an incredible force of energy and authority on the subject of capital punishment. If you are in Chicago and want to see this compelling opera, one performance only at the victory gardens theatre Sunday, April 27. I do not know the start time or ticket price.
