Am not really into open letters, but this one is for you, MakeMyTrip. Congratulations, you have found yourself a hater and I promise to be loyal as that. *** To whomsoever it may concern, I had logged on to makemytrip for the first time yesterday to book a round-trip for Bangalore-Delhi-Bangalore from 2nd Nov to 10th Nov. Only because I was getting a fine deal for it as a WHOLE TRIP, I went for a return ticket for a flight of 5.5 hours. Little did I know that makemytrip is clever enough to process the payment even if "a rare occurrence beyond your control" happens (quoting your own words) and one side of a return-trip gets cancelled at the last moment, to my utter dismay, and without me having any idea at all of what is happening on the server side. So, what I now have is a return ticket from Delhi to Bangalore for 10th Nov, which IS NOT even CHEAP as compared to other websites, will long for 5.5 hours with 2 stops in between, and with no idea of how am I going to even BE in Delhi in order to return on the 10th! To make it worse, you expect me to wait for 5 days to get my refund back WHEN I WAS NOWHERE AT FAULT, charge me Rs. 1250 FOR CANCELLING THE OTHER TICKET again FOR NO FAULT OF MINE, and your "travel assistants" on the helpline number are FOREVER BUSY. Please know that I, as a customer, am LEAST CONCERNED if this is a "rare occurrence beyond your control" or a frequent one. All that I know is that this was my first experience with makemytrip and definitely the last one. Kindly refund my money ASAP! so that I can at least get another ticket and MAKE SURE THAT I BE IN DELHI ON THE 10TH IN ORDER TO USE THAT GODDAMNED RETURN TICKET THAT YOU WERE "GENEROUS" ENOUGH TO BOOK FOR ME DESPITE YOUR TECHNICAL FAULT. -- An aggrieved, dissatisfied and gravely disappointed customer
