Am very happy to finally be home. Today at 14 hours was shortest day Ive worked all week. Looking forward to nice hot shower and hiamoe. Putting this into perspective, we have thousands still without electricity. My hot shower is something I take for granted but in parts of island there are those who not only dont have hot water, they need drinking water, ice for their food and medicine. Hope we can expedite all of this with the crews flying in from Oahu and Maui. Very grateful for the tremendous help of the Hawaii National Guard, our employees from every department, the mayor. If can, bring ice from your refrigerators tomorrow to Ben Franklin parking lot from 9-10. Dont just count on government to fix stuff. Join the many other members of the community who have already pitched in to help. Lets look out for each other. You never know when you will be the one who needs help.
