This Bill categorically states that organisations with 150 or more employees must hire persons in line with national demographics, particularly at upper management levels. She further made statements claiming that non- black employees are hard-working, committed, qualified and effective. She believes that promotions on her administration will ignore all requirements of the bill. This comes after Zille was under fire for not having a single female MEC on her Western Province administration. More than 90% of her senior staff is dominated by white males. We have submitted our comments to [Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant)] making it clear that we are not committed to employment equity. We are prepared to go as far as the Constitutional Court to defend our decision. said Helen Zille. Many people have expressed concerns about Zilles arrogance especially qualified and experienced potential employees in the province. And I wrote: I understand the decision and statement made by the DA has its roots in the whole Affirmative Action programme. If this country is going to work, we should stop employing people because of colour or race, but we should employ people on the grounds of their qualifications, effectiveness, performance and the potential to develop this country. In your own opinion, what has Affirmative Action achievd for our country since 1994? I know that it would appear as though the DA actually DOES have black members, but have you stopped to think: How many of them are actually fit for public office? How many of them are trained and qualified, academically, for the posts that we are talking about? The DA is not the ANC, who put uneducated, clueless and corrupt people as Head of States, simply because they are black. Gone are the days when skin colour was the only qualification for certain jobs. Such people, in the opinion of the DA, and in my personal opinion, are not fit for public office. Thank you.
