AmaraTrue friendship emerges without warning.There is no date to remember.It just grows until one day acquaintance graduates into friendship.Loveis the diploma.The chosen love is real and powerful,bitterandsweet.It is bright enough to shine through all the night seasons of your life.It is warm enough to wrap up in the chill of an aloof world.Only occasionally in a lifetime will you meet the kind of friend who becomes more than an acquaintance.Every relationship undergoes adjustments.Thereason one relationship becomes more valuable than another is in its ability to survivecircumstances and endure realignment.We never know how strong a relationship is until itis threatened.It takes a powerful bond to withstand the pressure and not be weakened by outside forces.Isnt that what you really want from a relationship?Toknow that you wont be abandoned-no matter what?To be yourself-hidingnothing,not even your worst imperfection-and know your friend wont run out on you?Just being you and you alone knowing that he or she loves and accepts you just as you are?Natural blood ties dont always wear as well as heart ties.The Bible says there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother(Proverbs 18:24).Too often we have thrown away good people who did a bad thing.Have you ever done that?I have and I have retraced my steps back to those people.A true friend is one who stands by you,honouring and affirming you.A true friend should desire to see you prosper in your marriage, in your finances,in your health,in your relationship with the Lord,in your career,and ministry.A true friend is really one of the best gifts Godwill ever give you.When you find yourself in a relationship or marriage,careeror ministry,with your best friend,you are made.Pray and ask God to make your path cross with your best friend and one who loves you genuinely and accepts you just as you are.One who would not push you into becoming fake just to be accepted. One who will never set out to compete with you. He or she must show genuine interest in your aspirations and help you realize them.Ask God for a true friend who will remember you each time he or she goes on his knees before God.He or she loves you just like that!Never get married to that person until you arecertain that he or she is your best friend. If you are in it with your best friend, you are forever happy even when there is nothing physical to show for your happiness
