Amazing Story of a Family Annihilator from 1976. Mr. Bishop, a high school quarterback and a graduate of Yale, was an army counterintelligence officer before entering the Foreign Service. He had stints as a diplomat in Botswana, Ethiopia and Italy and reportedly spoke five languages. At the age of 39, Mr. Bishop was stationed at the State Department in Washington when he left work early on March 1, 1976, the day of the killings.
