Amazing garden exhibit from the Ellerslie International Flower Show: "A French Kiss in Akaroa: Young Wellington designer Ben Hoyle won Gold for his garden ‘A French Kiss in Akaroa’. At 35, Hoyle is already an Ellerslie veteran who has been exhibiting since age 21. Hoyle’s lakeside garden featured a tapestry of grass-covered walkways floating delicately over black water canvas in a dramatic horticultural expression. This garden, which was inspired by the journey of early French settlers to Akaroa - a little town on the Banks Peninsula south of Christchurch - is a fusion of gardening styles and culture."
