With no end to the negotiations in sight, I think its very likely that Hachette is holding out for Agency pricing, which would mean they get to set e-book prices as high as they like, and retailers arent allowed to discount. I wouldnt be surprised if every publisher -- as they reach their window to negotiate with Amazon -- holds out for the same terms. I also wouldnt be surprised if publishing heads have discussed how to coordinate this and have learned how to delete their e-mails better than last time.
