Ambassador Mussomeli attends the ASEF inaugural lecture Over 200 people attended the American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) first inaugural lecture series entitled “Invention and Patents: Thinking like an Innovator” presented by Dr. Richard Fuisz and Joseph Fuish, the ASEF Silver donors who are extremely proud of their Slovene origin. After a brief introduction about ASEF presented by Jure Leskovec, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University and Dr. Peter Rožič, S.J. of Santa Clara University, the floor was given to Ambassador Joseph A. Mussomeli who is one of the ASEF Advisory Board members. In his keynote remarks Ambassador Mussomeli stressed the importance of the Slovenian and American cooperation in the field of education and exchange. “ Governments can only come so far in this regard – exchanges and discussions such as this one open people up to true cultural understanding….,” said Ambassador Mussomeli. The American Slovenian Education Foundation aims to offer high-impact grant and endowment programs, teaching and learning materials, as well as foreign exchange of students and faculty.
