Ambassador Yeshimebrat Mersha presents credentials to the President of Mali The newly appointed Ambassador of Ethiopia, to Ivory Cost and accredited to Mali, Dr. Yeshimebrat Mersha presented her letter of credence to President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on Mali on Tuesday last week (May 5). Ambassador Yeshimebrat also presented copies of her credentials to Malis Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Zahabi Ould Sidi Mohamed. Ambassador Yeshimebrat noted the long standing relations between Mali and Ethiopia and expressed Ethiopia’s readiness to strengthen bilateral relations. She detailed Ethiopia’s sustainable economic growth and highlighted the principled position it had aken over the building the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the country’s commitment to mutual cooperation among the Nile Basin riparian states. She also briefed the President on the activities of IGAD and the situation in the region. Welcoming Ambassador Yeshimebrat, President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita underlined the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of peace and of development in Africa. During her visit to Mali, Ambassador Yeshimebrat also held constructive discussions with the Minister of Transport and the State Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, of industry and of business concerning investment, trade and tourism relations between the two countries.
