Amber and Brian Brake thought their son, Paxton, was lactose intolerant, so they had some routine blood work done. What happened next is a parents worst nightmare. One day after his first birthday, Paxton was diagnosed with leukemia. Brian is in the army guard, he has served overseas with Charlie troop, first of 150th armored reconnaissance squadron. He is a volunteer firefighter with the Danville VFD. This family epitomizes love and strength. The Brake family reminded me today that life is fragile and precious.
