Ambrose Alli’s daughter campaign against APC in Edo By Benin City, Victor Osehobo / January 20, 2015 / No Comments Eldest daughter of first civilian governor of old Bendel state (1979-1983), Mrs. Rosemary Zuberu-Alli, has urged all Nigerians to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan on February 14 2015. Speaking at a PDP rally at Igueben in Edo Central senatorial zone she said he father died despite the pleas from family and associates to Buhari for his release, adding that, “Please, I have come to beg you people to please give your votes to President Jonathan en masse because Buhari did havoc to my daddy. He killed my daddy; he put my daddy into detention for good one year without any reason. “And upon all his excesses, they did not write to say that my father did not know anything about the N983, 000 … They wanted to jail my daddy at all cost. For that reason I am begging you people, as long the children of political detainees live, Buhari will never rule this country.” She said this is the only way Nigerians could avenge the crime committed against their parents, fathers and mothers when Major-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress was head of the military junta. It will be recalled that Gen Buhari staged a coup against the democratically elected government of former President Shehu Shagari in1983, and subsequently jailed Prof. Ambrose Alli over corrupt allegation of inflation of Ekiadolor road contract. Prof. Alli’s jail term was reduced to an option of paying a fine of N983, 000.00 but he later took ill and died shortly after his release from prison and according to his daughter, a vote for Buhari and the APC means backwardness for the country.
