America is not a place, or even a dream. Its a creed: a set of ideas about life, Liberty and property being from God not government. A set of ideas with a specific history. In that sense I am not a partisan; I am not political. I am American. And because that set of ideas arises & can be honestly derived from a common sense reading of the canon of the Bible in original language and context...because that idea is translatable into any language and can impact the tyrannies in every other culture....so I am an American even when I am a missionary. I am never global without also being American. To pretend otherwise would be dishonest: dissembling: disingenuous. Like any cultural being, I can and do sit in discerning judgment on my culture. So I disavow what has been done in the American name which is not American in the above sense. So I am an and will remain an unashamed patriot. My life, my fortune, my sacred honor belongs to the principles of life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness as the Word of God has made them the gift due to every human who will receive them: especially to those who will receive them at their wellspring, the Cross of Jesus Christ.
