O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain. America! America! Nature shed her grace on thee, May we crown thy beauty with caring duty To thy land and its ecology. O beautiful for slaves and migrants feet Whose stern impassiond stress A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness. America! America! Can we mend thine evry flaw, Confirm thy soul in self control, Thy true liberty in law? O beautiful for heroes provd In suffering and strife, Who more than self their country lovd, Thine aspirations more than life. America! America! Can we make thee more profound Till all success be nobleness, And evry just gain abound? O beautiful for founders dream That sees beyond the years, Thy founding documents words still gleam, Undimmed by many human tears. America! America! They shed their grace on thee, And crown thy good with siblinghood From sea to shining sea.
