America, the land of the free and the brave. I often think about - TopicsExpress

America, the land of the free and the brave. I often think about how young our country is, 238 years old. Think about it... there are living centenarians who have experienced almost half of the development of the U.S. Frankly, I’ve lived a fairly good chunk of America’s history myself. Never would I have imagined as a young child that party line phone service would wind up being a FaceTime call using mobile technology, or that driving across the country to locate a single address would be guided by GPS in my car. Paperless??? I check students assignments online, using a computer, iPad or even my iPhone where grades are automatically submitted with GPA’s calculated. Rarely do I buy stamps, email is the quick, convenient and economical route, which accounts for part of the U.S. postal service’s financial issues now. Think about it... it wasn’t that long ago that families traveled by horse and buggy across the new frontier to begin a new life in the West. Now, a NASA liftoff is generally a “ho hum” event for Americans and the global community. I sometimes wonder whether our so called super power will eventually succumb to destruction (God forbid) like ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and other civilizations; and left for archieologists to dig out the remains for school children to study thousands of years from now. OK...so that’s my 4th of July thoughts. LOL I know my classmates are probably saying..that Judy has not changed. LMBO!!!
