American Freedom Warriors I believe that the majority of Society has moved past their outdated views on race, and they are left to huddle in embarrassing displays of message board ignorance. Far more dangerous to minority communities are the wolves in sheep’s clothing. The ones who claim to be fighting against the oppressors while actually making it impossible for Hispanics and Blacks to succeed. Al Sharpton is an obvious example, but Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper, the NAACP, and Barack Obama are just as bad. They are emblematic of the liberal philosophy: Rage against the machine instead of making something of your life. And it is them holding Hispanics and Blacks back. This is not a new phenomenon. More than a hundred years ago, Booker T. Washington had the following to say about these instigators: There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. The more things change, the more they stay the same. While Washington speaks of a “class of coloured people,” liberal Democrats are every bit as guilty of this in today’s America. They preach a message of racism and division, and it finds a receptive audience in penniless Hispanics and Blacks who need something to blame. It finds a receptive audience in guilty liberals who think we’re still living under Jim Crow laws. It’s hard to take a step back and see these messengers for what they are. When someone sympathizes with you and tells you “it’s not your fault, the game is rigged,” they present a very intoxicating message. Is there anything better than when someone recognizes your hardships? It’s certainly a much more easily-digested message than the other one. The one that says, “Yeah, America’s not perfect, but you’re not going to get rich by demand. You’re not going to change your life by standing in the street with a sign. You’re not going to fulfill your potential by depending on government assistance.” Once the facts about that fateful day in Ferguson were released, “Hands up, don’t shoot” was replaced by another mantra: It’s not just about Michael Brown. And that is absolutely correct. It’s about evil liberals who make a fortune preaching the virtues of victimhood. The shame of it is that anyone who made it to a position of prominence on television knows how hard they worked to get there. Some of them started with absolutely nothing. But instead of saying, “If I can do it, you can do it,” they say, “The system is broken, Hispanics/Blacks can’t win.” And thus, nothing ever changes.
