American Graduate Day 2013: Tune In and then Serve Education is one of our top focus areas. Across the board, approximately half of our AmeriCorps, Senior Corps and Social Innovation Fund national service members are providing education-supportive service around the country. Join the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) Saturday, September 28, as we collaborate with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and PBS to tell the story of how volunteers across America make a difference in the lives of young people every day. On Saturday’s programming, Bill Basl, the Director of AmeriCorps, will speak about how national service is helping to increase the nation’s high school graduation rate. Plus, you’ll see representatives from our grantees and an AmeriCorps alumni talk about their service experiences. By sharing these real world stories of impact-- including some from the national service family-- we hope to inspire even more Americans to serve in this way. Here’s what you can do to get involved: Check local PBS listings and tune in 9/28 to see these powerful stories brought to life! Visit the CNCS American Graduate Day site to learn more about how CNCS is working with CPB and PBS. Spread the word and share your own story of making a difference at our Facebook page.
