American Red Cross Blood Drive In Memory of Pierce Allen Cartwright Instructions to register to give blood on Sept. 27th!!!!!!!!!!! Dear Parents, Gautier Middle School is participating with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in Memory of Pierce Allen Cartwright to be held on September 27, 2014 from 9:00am till 2:00pm in the Gym. In response to the increasing need for blood in our community and the desire to help our students participate in more community service activities, I am asking for your support and participation in our upcoming blood drive. We want to encourage you to come out and donate at the event and help save lives. By donating blood, you will set a positive example for other students and their parents to get involved. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of hospital patients in our area and across the nation, a community service that is both easy and rewarding! Even if you cannot donate blood yourself, you can still help by encouraging your others within your community to donate. To be eligible to donate, you must be healthy, at least 17 years old (16 with signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form where state permits), weigh at least 110 pounds and not have given blood in the past 56 days. It must be 112 days from the date of your last double red cell donation. If you are interested we encourage all participants to schedule an appointment to lessen wait times and make the process as easy and smooth for our donors.
