Amid all the doom and gloom, an inspiring news: Sushma, a 13-year old from Lucknow, has become one of the youngest ever to study MSc in microbiology. She cleared her XII board exam when she was nine. Behind her success lies the immense sacrifices her family made. Her father is a daily wage earner who earns around INR 200 a day. When he saw that his daughter had made it to the merit list in the MSc course at Lucknow University, he immediately sold off land to fund her education. Sushma now plans to continue her studies and become a doctor when she hits 18. All those who balk at studies (I did, too, when I was a student :D ) - let us learn from Sushma and appreciate what we have in our lives.
