Amid the hustle and bustle of downtown Amman, no one seems to notice the comings and goings of an elite group whose high security main base is buried more than a mile beneath the houses and streets of the city. The massive underground base – called Omnidata – is basically a whole city in itself and is a major “through point” for Omnidata personnel in the Middle East and subterranean activity, as well as a central infiltration zone for surface operatives. Many Omnidata personnel are planted in jobs around Amman in gas stations, bars, restaurants, the souks and many other areas. They change their appearance in order to blend in with the crowds and go undetected. They are the watchdog security force which sends alerts to the main security section underground whenever anyone gets too close to a facility ground level exit or entrance. There are several levels to the base, all accessed by magnetically controlled elevators which also go up to more than 100 entrances/exits at the city level. In fact, the entire underground facility is controlled by advanced magnetic technology. A super highway of underground high-speed shuttle tubes criss-cross the underground area from Turkey in the north to Saudi Arabia in the south; Cairo/Alexandria/Tripoli in the west (and soon to be Tel Aviv) to Afghanistan/Pakistan in the east. Numerous observation posts (OP’s) are strategically placed along the shuttle routes, the most recent built underneath the Jordanian Bedouin village of al-Mazar in the al-Karak province, considered to be a main area of interest for Omnidata. The shuttle tubes enable personnel to get from one point to another quickly and efficiently by “shooting” the shuttles at incredible speeds using a mag-lev/vacuum method. One of the shuttle tubes recently took Omnidata personnel from Amman to Aqaba during the military exercise Eager Lion. “Omnidata has been building these bases since the early 1950’s,” explains Eric Boswell, commander of the Amman base’s Special Operations Command. “A gentleman’s agreement was struck with King Hussein under the Eisenhower Administration to construct the large facility under Amman which is now our central hub in the Middle East.” Other underground bases, not as huge as the Amman base, have been built in surrounding Middle Eastern countries. A new facility, built under Tel Aviv, will be connected to the Amman Hub in the next few months via another underground shuttle system. But, what is this massive underground base and tunnel system doing here in Amman? “Most of our activities are classified and involve low intensity conflict,” Boswell said. “But the Amman Hub also does high risk advanced genetic research and experimentation.” Dr. Gordon Maniscalco, a medical geneticist, said their research and development of new medical breakthroughs in creation of a human hybrid have been fairly successful, citing a 1976-1977 experiment started at the US Army post Fort Gordon in Georgia and continues today in the lower levels of the Amman Hub. “The experiment provided great advances in the utilization of the metagene factor,” he said. The money for such a mass undertaking comes from a secret budget named the Black Budget. About a quarter of the United States’ gross national product is diverted into the budget which figures out to more than a $52Billion US dollars yearly. Black Budget projects are named Black Projects; when initially started, the Amman facility was code named “Blackwatch.”
