Among the few modern-day civilians doing the best possible to preserve the heritage passed on to us by their parents starting back in pre-WW II days, from1939 and on, are Donna McVicar-Kazo, of Florida, along with her brother Gordon McVicar, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec, Canada and her daughter, Christianna Cannon. Donna is the daughter of Don McVicar, one of the more prolific and highly-skilled civilians pilots who greatly expanded the aviation-safety envelope during his years of service as a frontier-penetrating civilian pilot who flew numerous missions for what became popularly known as the Royal Air Force - Ferry Command, and went on after the war to write about his adventures and tried to build an international airline - World Wide Airways. For those who would like to see exactly how these civilians of Ferry Command did the impossible, take a look at the web sites which Donna, Christianna and Gordon have built … here’s the first of three of them… https://facebook/pages/Captain-Don-McVicar-OBE/210816915607652 ... the second one deals with photographs - donnamcvicarkazo/aviationgallery.html ... the third is the one set up by Don and his son, Gordon, and maintained by Gordon all these years ... donmcvicar/ ... the fourth one is about Donna, who is also a talented artist - here’s her web page https://facebook/donna.m.kazo?fref=ts
