Among the very nice positive stories in this weeks Herald about Billy Crystal donating one million dollars to Long Beach and the great accomplishments of the Long Beach seniors and the several companies stepping up and making the prom very special for Long Beach seniors I did come across one very disturbing article in the herald while I was enjoying a late dinner at the Laurel luncheonette. It was a story about the new reality Tv show on Bravo about six Long Island Jewish Princesses. The article pointed out how this show is not only deeply offensive to Jews but called Freeport a ghetto and trashing the city of Freeport. Especially on a night of viewing such an emotional and inspirational film to read about that a Tv show is creating awful stereotypes and dumping on the people of the South Shore of Long Island in my opinion is sickening.I applaud a group of concerned residents in Freeport who held a rally to speak out against this sickening show. Honestly I have heard bits and pieces about this show but I dont watch much television but just reading about this especially after what we on the south shore have been through is deeply troubling. And if my friends in Long Beach want to set up a meeting in Long Beach like the good people of Freeport i would like to be involved in such a meeting and would promote it on our weekly Long Beach radio show
