It all began with a Ceremonial Inauguration and thereafter construction of ”BALIMANDHAPAM” in Varkala “PAPANASHAM” Beach, Keralites “DAKSHINA KASHI” on Jan 2013. Presently the authorities are busy in filling the foundation with beach sand as the sea eroded the structure’s foundation and has given way to sunk the platform along with tiling work, also during the upcoming “KARKADAVAV” this structure will be a threat to the general public assembled to give “MOKSHA” The Eternal Release of Soul. It was conveyed by the project leaders that VASTU VIDHYA (Indian Architectural Science) was considered for design and placement of the structure which is little bit indigestible, because as per Vastu Vidhya, Sea beaches are been considered unfit places for fixed construction. Now let’s talk about Modern Architectural Science, basically for construction in sea beaches, piling foundation has be done for structural stability, Sodium Cement has to be used to resist salty weather, Chloride resisting chemicals are to be used ect. But none of these has been followed for this particular construction. Further the regulatory rules has been violated as Panasham Beach is coming under CRZ-1 where fixed constructions should not happen. The total amount allocated for the project was Rs.11.34 Crores but in commom man’s calculation also, it may not reach over 1 Crore for the structure done. May be it’s a deliberate loop-hole creation to personalize the beach in future.
