An Autistic child adventures in to the working world. Distrust has reached alarming proportions because it is being spread by so many means. Society as a whole is PROMOTING this massive epidemic. Not only do our family members and friends recommend caution and doubt, but so do our primary social institutions. And of course, our own self-protective, egoic instincts strongly approve of doubt and distrust in all forms. As Joshua starts his adventures in the working world Ive come to realise over the past week how little faith I have in people myself and how much of this is now ingrained in Joshua. I now worry that my pre-conceived ideas of protecting my children over the years have created a socially awkward child, now I know Joshuas autism doesnt help but I cant help but worry that due to my preconceptions of people I might have contributed to this.
