An EXPECTED Stupidity...ever wonder when you book your rental car - TopicsExpress

An EXPECTED Stupidity...ever wonder when you book your rental car via expedia, the bill never comes out the same as the rental car bill?.. Its almost double the charge of what is originally quoted on Expedia. So I wanted to test my theory of inconsistency and sure enough, I was right again!!.. My original quote for a 4 day rental via Expedia was $75 total with tax included (yes very cheap!)..when I finally got my bill from Advantage it was $145.. When I asked them to break it down, they included a late fee charge (even though I already paid for it), a fuel charge (I returned the tank full), an upgrade charge (did not ask, did not want, did not GET an upgrade), and admin fees...after exhaustingly arguing with the counter rep, he told me that Whatever the other counter agent told me was wrong and that I had to pay the current charges and you never pay exactly what Expedia quotes you.. When I would not relent and threatened to dispute the charges (which I will do anyway), he gave me a 10% discount... He also told me to look at the main contract before I sign anything because that can change if I dont question it before renting the car.. WHAT??? Ive been traveling and renting cars consistently for the last 7 years and ...what??? Needless to say, Car Renters beware!! Theres so much fraud going on with these rental car companies, its almost tempting to sue them.. Early this year, I rented a car (mini fiat) in Hawaii and was quoted $170 for a week and I ended up paying $590....this is ridiculous!!
