An Ebola outbreak that threatens to wipe out the world after the first case reached the mega city of Lagos; a new malaria strain in Southeast Asia that will not respond to medicines; the death of thousands of innocent people--babies!!!-- in the Gaza Strip; the intense fighting between two nations Ukraine and Russia that has also resulted in the downing of a plane carrying nearly 300 people from 9 different countries; a TransAsia flight crash in Taiwan killing nearly 50 passengers; a plane killing a father and daughter walking by the beach in Miami; teens killing teens in Japan and the US; a looming energy crisis at home as rotational brownouts take into effect; Mother Natures wrath as mega typhoon upon mega typhoon make landfall, with four more on the way in the coming month. And all these happened and/or escalated in July! Its hard to be a flippant Millenial in these trying times. Its WRONG to be a flippant Millenial when so many are dying. People should care more about whats happening in the world. What little we can do to help, what little kindness we can show to help our fellow men, were living in dangerous, dismal times, I say we do it. Nows not the time to live for ourselves and chase our selfish dreams, because in the kind of world we live in now, I dont think were even assured of a future. Be kind, do good, if youre in the position to help, do so. Humanity needs its best soldiers right now. Sorry to proselytize, but were actually not helpless. We might not be with Doctors without borders, or a diplomat, or a UN volunteer, but someone always needs our help at home. Just look around you, someone needs you. PS: God, please, time out muna. Medyo sunod-sunod.
