An Extention of the Multiverses of Max Tegmark: Max Tegmark is a physicist known for his theories that the universe might be of a substantiality built wholly out of abstract mathematical principles. He describes in his book Our Mathematical Universe and elsewhere his theory that the universe consists of nested multiverses (a term coined by British Astronomer Royal Martin Reese), which contain copies of everything capable of physical existence by virtue of being so vast that there will naturally be multiple copies of everything, arising by chance, within. He defines Multiple Universe Hypothesis I, II, III, and IV to be levels of reality based on our physical laws, general physical laws, quantum mechanical rules (which supposes some variant of the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics), and abstract math. The spatially extended and the many-worlds interpretation universes are logical and fulfill the need to explain the behavior of the universe elegantly. But there is a big gap between MUHIII and MUHIV I find evident from the fact that we have little theory of why, even though the universe is made of mathematically elegant structures, which one would not suspect of being mostly intelligent, there could be properties of physics in the fashion of humans running around finding themselves sentient with any degree of likelihood. So here is my proposal for the intermediate levels, which, if worked out, might explain the whole show from first mathematical principles: (note that I am giving the regions names since there are many MUH-level abbreviations) Level 1: existance Level 2: information Level 3: energy Level 4: dimension Level 5: particles Level 6: particle identities Level 7: entire entropic systems (the apparant decohered state) Level 8: MUHIII.0. the quantum mechanical Many Worlds Interpretation The description of the universe (from what I believe I understand) with a particular set of laws should be summarizable by a function which gives the chance in each case of a possible state of the universe arising out of each possible previous state of the universe. Level 9: MUHIII.1. the Omniverse: The omniverse is every possible set of those previously mentioned functions, thus the multiverse of all possible laws. Most of these will not be very elegant, for instance the universe with rules like ours except that when I snap my fingers, an orange drops from midair in front of me. Bearing in mind that physical laws can sort of be seen as a collection of the characteristic times with which one event follows another, this can be subdivided thus: i. Forever The superspace of universe-histories whose history is part of said superspace ii. Eternity The further superspace the points of which are each a set of the probabilities function, without following an ordered history. Level 10: MUHIII.2. Multiverses of Manifestation Defined to be the regions outside which physical principles within cannot apply. i. Ergo Local region containing all origins and their effects which have concatinated with the other effects in the region. Outside the region there have been no Feynman diagrams connected to the inside of Ergo. ii. Physicality But physical effects could still exist by, for instance, avoidance. So we consider regions which are so isolated that they are physically meaningless to compare, for instance in scale. The region outside which no physical principle can apply is the Physicality. MUHIII.3. The Causal Multiverses The steps of putting together the arrow of time. Part i isolates, part ii connects, part iii puts the arrow of entropy on, and part iv makes entropy compelling. Level 11: i. Instructions The region outside which no synchronicity of physical principles can apply defined to be the region outside which physical principles within CANnot apply. Regions of instructions are meaningless to compare proceedures between. Each isolated universe sets up the universes own franchise of defining what is a physical procedure. Level 12: ii. Causality Region outside which no synchronicity of PROPOSED physical principles can apply, so far removed that there is no sense to there being physical proceedures outside, to those within Level 13: iii. Entropy The region outside which our generic definition of a physical principle cannot apply. Level 14: iv. World, the region outside of which our kind of examination of properties cannot occur. MUHIII.4. The Etherial Multiverses The foundations of defining the universe Level 16: i. Reality Regions outside which our definition of a physical effect is not in occurance. A reality is a region outside which PHENOMENA in the reality cannot be defined. There is more difficulty in coming up with an example of something that cant be real, but unreal might be something like a determination there is a phenominon of waterfalls running up hill because of our laws of gravity. There may still be waterfalls running uphill in reality due to other principles like gravity, but they cant be OUR laws of gravity. Level 17: ii. Metareality Region outside which our definition of persistance does not make sense. Level 18: iii. Tableau Region outside which all activity appears to be random. Level 19: iv. Frames Region outside which our kind of physical form is not meaningfully defined. The definitions may be mathematical definitions. Level 20: MUH IV, Mathematica The local notional space, which contains everything well-defined Beyond MUH: Level 21: Demiurge The local definitional space, containing everything in every system of definitions. Everything that understanding is about, even the nonsense. Level 23: Fronts (named for the side of the Rubiks Cube) Everything related by a procedure like being about, or in other words everything covered by every definition of procedure. Complacational space. Level 24: Everything related. Level 25: Suppositional space. Every thing. Level 26: Consideration Appreciational space. Preter-everything under definition explained within experience (in terms of what you would need to be to follow the whole explanation) Level 32: Consensus Participatory space. Preter-everything under definition explained within any possible powers of the definer. Level 39: Depth Justificational space.Preter-everything subjectable to any verb. and finally (drum roll...) Level 40: Presence (these last 2 theatrical terms) Elementary space. Preter-anything, with definition wholly by the preter-anythings-self.
